[Poll] Which is your favourite song from "The beginning" album?  
Sooo I received ayaka's new album yesterday huge thanks to CDJapan!

I've been listening it on loop since last night and I was just curious which song is everyone's favourite from The beginning?

I'm leaning towards "The beginning" now but I still need to listen to the entire album more times first before voting.

I'm currently listening to it right now, and I agree with someone who posted at Arama. It's currently underwhelming. There are certain parts that I love, but not every song. I'm sure it'll grow on me though. "Hajimari no Toki" is stunning and still my fave, but I love the male speaking parts (the sort of 'reggae' sound) in "HIKARI". That part is unique and something I didn't expect from ayaka's usual pop-rock sound, so I hope she branches off into that sound more. "Tsunagaru Kokoro" is catchy. "Magic Mind" is super catchy, love it... Overall though, I felt the album was lacking am 'oomph' that her previous ones had. Maybe a second or third "Hajimari no Toki" song.

i love ayaka but i think i get where you're coming from. i like the album - not as much as i like some of her older songs, but i think with time i'll come to love them more (my favorite ayaka song, te wo tsunagou, took me about five or six listens before i really fell in love with it). i'm not entirely sure why it's underwhelming for me, but i think it might just be because her voice sounds weaker than i was expecting. i love the power behind songs like te wo tsunagou, arigatou, etc., and this album is a lot more... delicate, i guess? lol i don't think i'm make sense anymore ajklfaasfjlk /flees

no no, i think you're making sense. i feel like in most of her songs, she's not using a lot of vocal tricks/technique. she's just going high/low all the time, but there isn't much lead-up in her songs. while ayaka is an extremely talented individual, i think she shouldn't compose all her songs. there just isn't much of a hook in the songs. and i want to love them, i really do, but the upbeat songs i can't really dance to, and it's not the actual music itself, so i think it's the actual singing and the way she sings them. i don't pay much attention to lyrics tbh, so that's what i think is refraining me from looping the album.
